The Nashville Sober Living Community has been impacted, as have all communities, by Covid-19. While there is no perfect solution, The Reserve Luxury Sober Living in Nashville TN offers private Bedrooms and Bathrooms for sober living residents at its men's and women's Luxury Halfway Houses and only has 4 to 5 Sober Living Residents sharing large 5 Bedroom homes unlike most sober living facilities that stuff 8 to 10 people or more in small older homes with as many as 2 to 4 to a bedroom and 4 or more sharing a single bathroom. We are committed to safety, keeping residency census low and maintaining quality. Call 850-687-9823 if you have questions or submit your questions through the Contact Us form.
The Daily Beast compiled data recently on the subject and pronounced Nashville as the “soberest city in the U.S.” Not exactly sure what they meant by this, but sounds good!
Huffington Post also cites Nashville as a top ten sober city (Nashville is slide 6 of 12).
Nashville has approximately 280+ AA meetings, NA, CA and 12 Step recovery meetings per day!
Whether you landed in Nashville by accident or you came here intentional for the Recovery Community (like me), Nashville has some of the strongest AA, NA, CA and 12 Step recovery Groups, Meetings and Communities in the Country, perhaps the world. That may sound a stretch, but it is not. I grew up in LA as a heavy metal rccker in the glam days of the 1980s and began my AA journey in 1983. I have been to meetings all over the world and all over the US. I have lived in LA, Miami, Atlanta, New York and been involved in the recovery communities there. While I have zero negative to say about any of those recovery communities, I can say they ain't got that Nashville positive upbeat vibe that the recovery community has here. Nashville seems to be becoming the treatment capital of the US or at least seems to be vying for the title intentionally or unintentionally. As many LA and music industry folk make the great escape from LA to Nashville, the meetings, treatment centers and recovery communities just seem to grow and grow and grow here. The meetings are friendly, positive and focus on the solution. there is little gloom and doom or drama here. The message is strong and clear and I am thankful for the recovery community and everything it has done for me.

the country. The recovery community vibe is upbeat and positive. There is a ton a younger people (20s and 30s) as well as a bevy of older crowd at meetings throughout the city. I moved to Nashville from Florida 8 years ago because I was struggling with my program and I was drawn to the strength of the recovery community and AA meetings here in Nashville. Although I just attend AA meetings, Nashville has a litany of other supports groups including NA, CA, ACA, Alanon . . . you name it, it is here. Sober Living in Nashville TN is simply a safe, sober environment with others on the same journey or path. This creates a step down from treatment or a structured atmosphere. When houses are run properly and are somewhat selective about their residents occupying the houses, the peer pressure tends to be positive or to succeed and do well in sobriety. The Reserve Luxury Halfway Houses carefully screen candidates and have minimum requirements of sobriety time in an effort to foster a safe, productive, positive environment conducive to healing and continued growth. Hopefully, that provides some clarity on the what is sober living question.
The fact remains that an alcoholic or drug addicts minds is an absolute mess for at least 6 months to a year. Depending upon usage and substances used, the body is likely to be a mess just as long. The sober living environment creates a buffer or safe haven for the residents in early sobriety to provide them with an opportunity to heal mind, body and soul before taking on life 100% again. The absolute worst thing for a person with new sobriety is isolation and feeling disconnected. Sober homes are designed to overcome the propensity of alcoholics and drug addicts to isolate or feel alone in the world in early sobriety. Just knowing others care and have your back that are going through the same things can make a life or death difference. Others suffer from addiction and going through the same or similar thing can better identify with each other, trust each other and tend to prop each other up. This can happen daily and sometimes hourly in sober living home environments. Sober living in Nashville TN is designed to get those in early recovery through the tough times. Sobriety gets easier and easier the more clean time a person accumulates.
A sober living house is a safe haven for recovery alcoholics and addicts. Sober Living homes are typically in residential neighborhoods and covered by the American with Disabilities Act which allows more than 3 unrelated individuals to resident in a sober living house residentially zoned for single family residences. The sober living homes are drug and alcohol free and the residents should all be recovery alcoholics or drugs addicts sharing a commonality of purpose and on a similar path. Many or most sober Living Houses tend to have 8 to 10 or more people shoved into small, older cramped dwellings. The Reserve Sober Living in Nashville TN Luxury Halfway Houses have 5 residents per 5 bedroom house. This reduces the drama and promotes a more positive, happy, serene and clean living environment. Early sobriety presents enough challenges without having more challenges created by bad and/or unclean living conditions.
These houses were commonly referred to as Halfway Houses throughout the 1980s, 90s and early 2000s. Technically, however, a halfway house is a licensed transitional facility for inmates transitioning out of prisons. These types of facilities are generally required to be licensed. Sober Living Homes or Recovery Houses are simply a safe, drug and alcohol free residential environment for individuals trying to get and maintain sobriety. All three (3) terms are generally interchangeable in the sober living context. The Reserve Sober Living in Nashville TN Luxury Halfway Houses simply uses the term halfway house because that is what people for years called these types of sober living residence. Recovery Houses is a very new term of which many are not yet familiar.
